Client:
Our Client is the world’s leading air charter service company with a proven reputation for innovation, expertise and professionalism. They are looking for an IT System Administrator to join their office in Hong Kong.  

Job Purpose: 
  • To assist the Head of ICT in ensuring that an effective IT service is provided globally by supporting all users and maintaining a healthy IT system. 
  • To propose and implement improvements to the IT infrastructure in worldwide.
  • Day to day management of the support ticketing system.
  • Resolving IT queries. 
  • Escalating to technical development team re more technical issues
  • Liaising with customers and internal staff in respect of progress on their issues
  • Providing an internal support function to all users
  • Participating in 24 x 7 on call support rota
  • Monitoring timeliness, quality and administration of responses.
  • Responsibilities of the position:
  • Provide support to all users of the company’s IT system worldwide to address queries, resolve systems issues and advise on use of systems.
  • Provide training on effective use of hardware and software for new and existing users of the company’s IT system.
  • Undertake occasional visits to global overseas offices within the group to provide support and training. 
  • Day to day monitoring of infrastructure performance using existing monitoring software.
  • ·Liaison with technical development team and other internal staff in respect of any issues/improvements.
  • Monitor capacity of the infrastructure and pro-actively initiate action as appropriate.
  • Manage licensing.
  • Working with the Head of ITC to define processes using ITIL
  • Implementing all new services to agreed processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9000 practices, Be aware of and comply with the company policies.
  • Liaising with customers and internal staff in respect of progress. 
  • Help commission new hardware as appropriate.
  • Identify and propose IT process improvements within the company to ensure optimum use of IT systems.
  • Ensure office phone system and mobile phones are set up and maintained effectively.
  • Provide phone system reports and costing for the accounts.
  • ·Deal with queries and issues arising from use of all hand held devices.
  • Provide costing reports for the accounts department.
  • Set up and maintain system for backing up company data and make sure that back up tapes are run daily and that one is taken off site.
  • Recommends and / or performs upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
  • Carry out maintenance as required for all systems hardware used in the company.
  • Assists in maintaining LAN/WAN records and, as appropriate, telephone systems cable.

Ideal candidate's profile: 
  • You must have a broad knowledge of computer systems, applications and operating systems.
  • Experience working at senior level in support role or equivalent, previous experience in help desk.
  • Trained to become Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
  • Experience working with MS exchange 2010 or VMware Vsphere 5.1, desirable experience of ITIL
  • Skilled in the use and support of the following systems: Microsoft Operating systems ranging from Windows 2003 through to Windows 2008 Server. 
  • Knowledge of the following applications: Microsoft Office (all versions), SQL Server, Terminal Services, Active Directory, WSUS, Citrix Xenapp 6, Trend Antivirus, Blackberry Server 5
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin 
  • Day to day management of the support ticketing system.
  • Escalating to technical development team re more technical issues
  • Liaising with customers and internal staff in respect of progress on their issues

  • Flexibility to change working hours and patterns if necessary. Normal working hours 0600 – 1500 hours.
